Emmin Bickford (they/them) is a clinical social worker providing mental health therapy and programs for youth 6+ and adults. Emmin specializes in working at the intersection of queer & trans identities, neurodivergence, and experiences of interpersonal violence. In their work with clients, they center identity, expression, creativity, and empowerment to partner with clients to help them meet their goals.
Teens and Adults
In my work with teens and adults, I utilize a collaborative, trauma-aware approach that centers the unique identity, needs, and goals of each client. My clinical work incorporates IFS, ACT, DBT, polyvagal, somatic, and attachment-based approaches to support my clients as they build internal relationships with the parts of themselves that are looking to be heard, embraced, and uplifted. I have experience working with individuals with experiences of trauma throughout their lives, whether that is within their family, partnerships, friendships, or oppressive systems. I am a poly and kink-affirming provider with experience working with clients navigating challenges within their polycules or other dynamics within their partnerships
Youth and Families
In my work with youth and families, I prioritize a youth-led approach, centering the autonomy of the young people I work with, while collaborating with families and other care providers to meet the unique needs of each individual. I use an interest-based approach with youth clients, bringing their specific interests into sessions and combining them with traditional therapeutic methods.
I have specific experience supporting youth and families navigating a recent diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD and providing letters of support for IEP or 504 plans. I have significant experience supporting youth with gender identity exploration and affirming medical care, as well as supporting youth navigating transitional periods such as changes in school or family life. I also have multiple years of experience working with autistic youth with a persistent drive for autonomy (PDA).
Costs
The cost of sessions is based on a self-selected sliding scale rate. It is encouraged that you consider your access to resources and identities of privilege when selecting your rate for services.
Equitable Rate: This rate is for those who would like to support the cost of their sessions and contribute to the Out of Bounds Wellness mutual aid fund that supports the rest of the cost of sessions for the accessible rate as well as supports opportunities for free community programming from Out of Bounds Wellness. The cost is $150 per 50-minute session from a licensed provider.
Sustainable Rate: This rate is the standard cost of sessions and covers the cost of associated fees in providing individual therapy services. The cost is $120 per 50-minute session from a licensed provider.
Accessible Rate: This rate is for those with less access including multiply marginalized identities, those of the global majority, and those with less financial access. This covers a portion of the cost of a session and associated fees. The cost is $85 per 50-minute session with a licensed provider.
